We won an Artist Support Grant from the North Carolina Arts Council!

By Autumn Ware

Hey there, EPIC listeners! I’m thrilled to share that after a rigorous selection process, the North Carolina Arts Council has honored our little podcast with an Artist Support Grant that promises to make season two even more epic!

The financial assist provided by this grant, managed through the Craven Arts Council & Gallery, cannot be overstated as we’re a self-funded production. However, I’m even more excited by the knowledge that a panel of people saw our potential because I know the competition for these grants is fierce.

What does this grant mean for EPIC Carteret? It’s huge – it’s not just a win for me personally but a big shout-out to our incredible community. Since we started in August, we’ve covered so much ground. From talking about businesses collaborating for success with author and former Chamber President Tom Kies to discussion heartwarming community celebrations with Emily Carter of A Chick’s View, we’ve had the chance to talk with some amazing local figures, and there’s more to come, thanks in no small part to the vote of confidence provided by the artist’s grant.

Season 2 is just around the corner, starting in February 2024. We’re going to dive into themes like how epic communities build trust, cultivate local fare, and champion environmental stewardship, kicking off the season with Mayor Sharon Harker of Beaufort.

This project was supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, with administration by the Craven Arts Council & Gallery.

The Artist Support Grant is a game-changer for us. It’s going to elevate our production quality, enrich our content, and help us reach even more people. But the podcast isn’t all we’ve got going on right now. We’re also on the lookout for business partners for our Winter Hauntings event, scheduled for January 11, 2024, at the Morehead City Train Depot. It’s going to be a night dedicated to our local literary and artistic talents, making it a perfect opportunity if you’re into reaching people who are into the arts and community celebrations.

So, if you’re a business owner looking to connect with a diverse, engaged audience, EPIC Carteret is the place to be. To learn more about the Winter Hauntings event partnership opportunities, head over to the Sponsorship Page for more information or email me at [email protected]. Thanks for tuning in, and here’s to making Carteret County even more epic!

Share if you're EPIC!
