Next up on EPIC Carteret, we’re setting our sights on the educational horizon.
Join me as I chat with Amanda McCall, the innovative Morehead City Primary School media coordinator and visionary behind the Title Wave bookmobile. Amanda shares how Carteret County’s residents, organizations, and businesses came together to ensure a brighter future for disadvantaged area students, and we explore how a community of learners can help each other grow.
You helped make a difference!
With your support and the enthusiasm of this engaged community, Winter Hauntings, our inaugural ghost story event in 2024, raised $900 for the Title Wave Book Mobile!

MEZCALITO GRILL
Join Amanda and me at Mezcalito Grill in Beaufort to explore how Carteret County folks come together to support learners as they grow. Amanda picked Mezcalito for its vibrant decor and its fresh, modern menu. We dipped into steak con queso, succulent steak strips in a velvety blend of spicy cheeses. I indulged in my favorite: the Michelada, a hearty Mexican cocktail made with beer, tomato juice, Tajin, lime, and spices. It was a lively setting for an enlightening conversation about working together to improve outcomes for everyone.
This project is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, with administration by the Craven Arts Council & Gallery.
